Boredom = Rich Inshort In today's world, our minds constantly consume information, much of which remains unprocessed. When we stop doing anything or are simply feeling bored, our minds start processing this information, often leading to incredible thoughts. Here are some examples: 1) Once J.K. Rowling was traveling on a long train journey with nothing to do. She was feeling bored and was just staring out of the window when she got the idea for Harry Potter. 2) During WWII, Eisenhower had to decide when to launch the attack on Nazi Army. He then stepped away from the noise to think alone and realized delaying would lose the surprise advantage. He chose June 6, 1944, and this decision helped the Allies win. Spending time alone without distractions can help unlock creativity and clarity. This is also why we often get our best thoughts while lying in bed or in the toilet.
