To make note is- For Startups, We call Founders but for VC Firms, We call them as Sponsors/Genneral Partners Then Who is this Investment Manager you may ask? See, Investment Manager is a Broader term, It includes: Sponsors- Founder of that VC Firm General Partner- If that founder also wants to become a CEO, He also takes the role of General Partner Managing Partner- Generally, They will hire one Partner to manage all these funds.
