🇮🇳 India ships first Akash air defence missile system battery deal to Armenia worth ₹6000 Crores . 🔥 India has made significant strides in its defense exports with Armenia being the first international customer of its Akash air defense missile system. In 2022, Armenia and Modi ji signed a deal to procure 15 Akash missile systems, valued at approximately ₹6,000 crore (around $720 million). ☢️ The system is a mobile surface-to-air missile defense system, capable of targeting fighter jets, drones, and cruise missiles within a 25 km range. The Akash missile system is developed by India’s Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and produced by Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). 🚀 The Akash 1S, an upgraded version of the missile, features advanced targeting capabilities with an indigenous seeker for improved interception of aerial threats. Armenia’s acquisition of this system will enhance its defense capabilities significantly. This deal highlights India's growing position as a global arms exporter, with other countries such as Vietnam and Egypt expressing interest in the Akash system.
