I am looking to gather supporters and investors for creating a plant cell cultures Museum, so put up an idea in showcase this time. Please share your opinions. Recently, Rea Genics, and Israeli startup optimised 31% protein biosynthesis in potato cell cultures. Normal potatoes contain around 2% protein. Cell cultures are prepared by smashing tissues and maintaining in liquid shaking cultures as living cells. When these cells age, a small portion is aseptically transferred to new flasks containing media. Small space required (like conical flasks). Scalable to big bioreactors. Although, feeding with rich nutrient optimised media made of sugars, plant hormones, elicitors, vitamins, etc, are required. Temperature and other conditions such as LED lights, humidity, aseptic conditions also require to be optimised. It could be challenging to attract investors unless it shows potential for widespread impact or profitability beyond niche interests. Maybe go to university chairpersons and ask for funding. They will do it for the name of their university.
