Recently I was watching YouTube Shorts, I returned to the home screen, and, to my surprise, Picture-in-Picture mode activated for YouTube Shorts. I wondered when this feature was even released. After doing some research, I found that Picture-in-Picture is generally available only for Premium users. I feel like this might have been a strategy to encourage users to subscribe to Premium. And, interestingly, the Picture-in-Picture mode didn’t happen again. Is it also happening for you guys?

yes this is a premium feature and I did not get this in free version. As I have premium version on YouTube so I checked it with another free account

Same here! I noticed PiP on my Shorts out of nowhere, but it was gone the next day. Maybe YouTube is testing the feature for non-Premium users to hook us. Clever marketing if that’s the case

Timing importance when there was very little bandwidth on the internet there was no YouTube. when internet penetration becomes high YouTube comes into picture ? Timing is the key to opening a door.
