The most travelled road in the world is the Mumbai Pune Expressway, currently people have to take the shivneri bus or non AC bus which is expensive, annoying (booking failures, single boarding, payment, delays etc) or they book a cab whose price varies wildly between 1k to 3k albeit the most convenient. The train is a non-starter for most people due to the crowding and general cumbersomeness of it. A middle point would be a more premium bus or cab system that travels regularly at fixed time. Similarly Bangalore-Mumbai, Hyderabad - Chennai and so many other cities. The problem is probably Cap Ex and adoption.
