Why Indian versions of whatsapp, facebook, Google, Apple won't work ? China has banned American products for so long And they have chinese version of these products for them. Its now paying them off ! American companies have zero data of who & what and where of chinese people. A recent attempt of twitter version called "koo" failed citing expensive costs to keep it running. But is that the actual reason ? I want to understand logically why Indian version of these products wont be a good business in India ?

I was thinking the same and come to the conclusion that replicating the same techs available in West doesn't make any difference in india. Indian entrepreneurs need to find and invent something different to match up with west

I don't think about the government banning that app because the Indian version twitter koo app is launched in favour of Indian culture with 12 or 22 languages i don't know exactly. the issue is users are very low. I don't know what the problem is but to survive we need to solve the problem

Copying western products doesn’t work. Koo is in shambles too. If both ShareChat and Koo fail, social media is over for Indian startups.

This is the harsh reality. They might be born in India or Indian origin but they have given up Indian Citizenship long back and have adopted American Citizenship. Most of them are General Category. Brace yourself !
