In a record-breaking Diwali celebration, Ayodhya set two new Guinness World Records during its 2024 Deepotsav festivities. The city illuminated 2,512,585 diyas (oil lamps) along the Saryu River, creating a breathtaking display. This was the first Diwali celebrated since the installation of Lord Ram's idol at the newly constructed temple, adding extra significance to the event. Additionally, 1,121 participants gathered to perform a grand aarti, marking the largest gathering for this ritual. The Deepotsav, which also included a laser light show and a performance narrating the Ramayana, drew thousands of spectators and pilgrims, showcasing Ayodhya’s rich cultural heritage and devotion.
