Our homes glow with diyas, symbolising knowledge and the warmth of connection. 🪔 Yet, so much of this radiant festival is now dominated by the deafening sound and smoke of firecrackers. A tradition so loud, it feels anciently ours. But wait, did you know firecrackers weren't originally an Indian invention? They actually came from China centuries later, likely arriving in India around the 15th century. It makes you pause and think: Why did we welcome this noisy, polluting import so wholeheartedly, sometimes overshadowing our own beautiful, peaceful traditions of light and sound? Have we sometimes chosen the easy, loud, and imported path over the deeper meaning embedded in our own heritage? Are we truly celebrating light, or just making noise? This Diwali, amidst the joy, let's take a moment for this small reflection. Let's promote traditions that genuinely light our lives and our world. What does the true 'light over darkness' mean to you this Diwali?
