Generalist or Specialist? It is a debate that keeps coming up, especially in my recent conversations with younger folks exploring their careers. I think of generalists as the Swiss army knives of the professional world. They can adapt, pivot, and connect the dots across different domains, making them great at solving diverse challenges. On the flip side, specialists are the ones with that sharp, deep focus. They are the experts everyone turns to for their honed skills and deep insights in a specific field. But here is the catch: it is not about picking one over the other. It is about figuring out what drives you and fits with where you want to go. 🌱 When I started out, I dabbled in everything - learning, exploring, and building a broad base of experience. But as I grew, I saw the value of diving deep. So, here is my question for founders: What is your startup army like? Are you building a versatile team, or are you banking on specialists leading the charge?
