Yday, CaratLane opened its 1st store in the USA, right next to a Biba outlet! 🙌🙌 But, it’s not just these two. The location is such that most Indian brands pick this as the first place in the US to launch their stores. Yet, most Indians don’t know about it. Time to build awareness! .. In the US’ state of New Jersey, there is a township called Woodbridge. -> In Woodbridge, there is an area called Iselin -> And 51% of Iselin’s population are either foreigners or citizens of foreign origin -> And 97% of those are Indian Americans! 🤯🤯 .. In fact, Iselin has the highest concentration of Indian Americans anywhere on US soil. That’s why many even call it “Little India”. And it gets better. .. Iselin’s median household income is 40% higher than the median for all of US. -> This is why, despite a population of just about 22k people, Iselin is so attractive to brands out of India that are looking to build a presence in the US -> It offers a massive concentration of high-income Indian-origin households all located in a very small area This enables a targeted market entry, as Iselin's demographics make it the perfect testing ground for Indian brands looking to establish a foothold in the US. .. And by the way, if I were managing Biba and CaratLane’s social media handles, I would definitely do two posts! 1> One from Biba which would - “Welcome to the US, CaratLane! Happy to help with chai and coffee if you guys need anything. We are just next door :)” 2> Another one from CaratLane - “Look who’s the neighbour to our maiden US store!” So, if those folks are reading this, think about this! 😅😅 .. Fun fact: Like CaratLane, for Biba too the store in Iselin was its first one in the US. It was opened last year :) Anyhow, did you know all of this? Do share in the comments!
