Why Indian phone Brands Couldn't Survive the Chinese Invasion? Around 2014, Indian brands like Micromax, Karbonn & Lava dominated the smartphone market. But their success was shortlived once Chinese brandsโ€”Vivo, Oppo, Mi or etc-entered India. These Chinese companies targeted the budget segment, offering feature-rich phones at unbeatable prices. Consumers quickly shifted to these affordable options, and Indian brands couldnโ€™t keep up. Another big reason is that most of the Indian smartphone brands made phone only for the budget segment, whereas the Chinese smartphone brands offered more dynamic choices to the users. Indian smartphone brands just lacked innovation Which is a major reason why Indian smartphone brands fell off so hard. I think it was a big miss as smartphone market is so huge. However everything is not over yet if only Indian brands could pull out something exceptional. However the chances are very slim, the future for Indian smartphone brands still seems dark.
