I get why Musk does space stuff because he is building tesla to fix earth and space X as the plan B to go to mars but why are we doing space? What are we doing to fix the environment?

We pursue space exploration because, as humans, we are driven to push boundaries and challenge ourselves. Yet, despite numerous government initiatives aimed at addressing environmental issues, meaningful action remains scarce, often overshadowed by superficial 'greenwashing' efforts that lack real impact.
