Maybe it the ease of use and negligible cost to company of it that's why they use it? I mean maybe it is just cheap and fast so it's convenient and not like an actual painful problem for them. What experiment are you planning to run before you get started? Just to validate your idea.

It's true that it is far easy to create a google form instead of creating it on websites. My idea is like this... Normally all the data captured in the Google forms is available only in Google sheet & it won't be convenient if the data is in bulk. that's where our custom application comes in. using Excel as a database it will show all the captured data as individual cards
