This week, I came across this ad company that doesn't bother with CVs or applications when hiring. They donโ€™t care about the applicantsโ€™ backgrounds or anything. Instead, they give candidates a creative task and pick the ones who really shineโ€”the innovative and original thinkersโ€”for interviews. It totally skips over things like socio-economic status, gender, or ethnicity and focuses just on talent and potential. Now, picture if education worked like that. No recruitment process is completely unbiased, but this could be a cool way to select people based on their skills and abilities rather than their privileges. It would shift the focus to what they can actually do instead of what theyโ€™ve been trained to do. That would be pretty amazing!

Hey, do you think big, creative thinkers can actually thrive in a buttoned-up, โ€˜play-it-safeโ€™ workplace? Or do they eventually get bored and leave? Have you ever had a big idea shot down because โ€˜thatโ€™s not how we do things here?โ€™ What happened?
