I didn't get you, the point of the post was that the innovative ideas wouldn't have a revenue model in the beginning but would go on to carve their own markets to be extremely big.

Should devs really care about the revenue, lot of ideas if implemented could be useful for many but it wouldn't be really profitable. Basically good will projects.
