The Indian Luxury Market achieved something interesting in FY 23. (see image below) I've always been curious - why do the rich invest a substantial amount in art pieces? Is it because of their love for art or is there some other reason?

Owning valuable art is a status symbol. Displaying a rare painting or sculpture in one's home or office can signal wealth, sophistication, and a refined taste to peers and visitors.
