Over the last couple of days, I've been getting spammed with a lot of dms asking me to upvote for start up showcase ideas. While I appreciate the enthusiasm, I have a word of advice for participants. The medial community is small. It will get saturated at one point. The same people will get dmd and won't even open your DM at one point of time. Also, the medial community is very supportive and forgiving. If you are proud of your idea, don't be afraid to showcase it to the rest of the world. I saw this post on LinkedIn today and immediately upvoted the idea on medial. If I see your ideas on LinkedIn or any other platform, I know that you're proud of your idea and will definitely make the effort to upvote🚀 What do you all think of this?

If we don't market it some way by posting on Medial or atleast DMing those once whom we know, then probably won't get upvotes. See, when you open Medial Showcase page, it will show you most upvoted 's on top .A normal person won't have time to read every startup description and hence will read about a few on top and will simply quit the page. How will the idea at bottom of list get upvoted if they are not viewed . Remember the startup added late in list might also be at bottom.

I agree. I also recieved such DMS and then found that maybe this is the way they are getting Upvotes. To secure my position I tried to do the same but just sent 2 or 3 people and stopped because this is a cheap way to market your product.

Thats true. I feel like posting on medial about ur idea is very low effort. Posting on Linkedin also means that participants thinks it's a good idea and worth effort.
