Just saw an American startup received 2.5 million dollar funding but spent 1.8 million dollar in just buying domain. What do you guys think of this decision ? Is it worth it ? By the way the domain is friend.com

If the product needs strong branding to scale, and the name is as generic as friend.com, shaadi.com, chess.com etc then it’s worth it.
