The iPhone craze in India is for real, and it seems to be reaching every corner of the market! I recently met with an old client, a timber shop owner, who shared a hilarious story that perfectly exemplifies this. Apparently, a carpenter who brings customers to the shop for commission (a common practice) came in recently. When the shop owner told him his commission had reached around ₹50,000, the carpenter's response was rather unexpected: "Bhaiya paise mat dena mujhe, mujhe iPhone khareed kar dedo" (Brother, don't give me the money, buy me an iPhone instead). This anecdote perfectly captures the immense popularity of iPhones in India, where they've become a status symbol coveted by many.
