Harari doesn't pull any punches when discussing the darker aspects of human history and society. I think what makes it particularly challenging is how he frames familiar historical events in new, often unsettling ways. His take on the Agricultural Revolution as a "fraud" that trapped humans is particularly jarring. But that's what makes the book valuable - it forces us to question our assumptions about human progress.
