The first fund, named Kavachh, is expected to be ~₹500 Cr, supporting Defence Tech startups. ⏭️Demand for Defence Technology seems to be on the uptick - - GOI launched iDEX in 2018, offering grants up to ₹10 Cr to startups and MSMEs - Silicon Valley VCs invested $35 B+ in defense tech startups in 2023 - NATO announced a $1 B VC Fund for DT startups 🕵️‍♂️Global VCs are also recruiting ex-military personnel and bureaucrats - - a16z hired an ex-fighter pilot jet as it's Chief of Staff - Lux Cap. hired a former head of US Special Ops - Shield Capital, launched in 2021 by a former Air Force officer ⚡️Exciting stuff happening in Defence Tech.
