One solid realisation I have had is that when people have the urge to start something they don't have any problem statement to double down on they struggle to identify a problem I believe the best way to get started is to look back into your life 1. see where you spent the last 5 years to 10 years - Double down on that and solve some inefficiency ( If you worked in fintech, for a decent time you are ideally positioned well to do something in fintech) 2. Or Probably think about what you are passionate about. The best way to know if you're passionate about something is your knowledge about that, ideally, you'll be in the top 1% in terms of knowledge ( i.e.If you have been passionate about footwear, or aviation since your childhood - you're decently positioned to solve problems and you also have a unique edge vs an outsider) 3. Look back into personal problems or good things that changed your trajectory. If you are doubling down on this, you'll be greatly motivated as you don't want to give that bad experience to everyone/ or you are keen to provide that good experience to everyone ( I.e Probably a health problem that you experienced that changed your life) One last point is that there are people who will want to create ambitious stuff and solve great problems ( I.e solving cancer, building robots, etc) I also have a similar drive But don't directly jump into solving ambitious problems if you haven't stacked your success well - you'll waste all your life. Solve decent and big problems, create wealth and jump onto better problems Remember to solve large problems you need the backing of great people and a lot of capital - which will only happen to people if they have stacked their success well
