What is Material Abundance? 🧵 Since the launch of ChatGPT, I've been very excited about the concept of a fulfilled, happy world in which individuals have a choice. Sam Altman has talked about it a few times too. It was in their pitch deck. What is it? It means an absence of the absence of basic needs. Imagine you have a house to live, a car to drive, guaranteed food on the table and a bit of money to spend on movies, friends, weekends etc. A world where basic needs are guaranteed. How would it happen? The answer is tech and innovation. Machine and AI will become so advanced that most people won't have to work. Healthcare, education, food- everything will be available to all. People can focus on creativity and personal growth. It sounds like an Utopian dream. Many compare it with socialism. But it really isn't. It's an actual possibility in the future. Imagine 0 pressure on students to purse science/medical. Imagine letting kids go free and wild. The results? We'll see much better artists, writers, athletes, work on things that matter to us, research would take a pedestal. Free will will be respected and honoured. Material Abundance will be a great equalizer. What do you think about it?
