I recently reached out to Niket Raj Dwivedi, Founder of Medial, for some startup advice on building SortedBrain. They recently raised $120k for their startup. One of the things I love about the #startup and #tech community is how willing successful entrepreneurs are to help like-minded individuals. Here are the questions I asked him, along with his insightful answers that gave me a #SortedBrain and streamlined my roadmap for the next quarter: 1. What should I focus on while developing the MVP? Should I keep pushing features or build one full set of features and push them all together? How do I get my first set of users? - People nowadays are app-conscious. - They don't like crappy apps. - It's better to launch with a full set of features, so users don’t leave thinking the app is broken. Medial started out as a news aggregator for startups, which gave people a reason to join the app. -Reach out to people and talk to them! (Continued below)

2. What should be my top priority while building the app? - Focus on traction and retention. - For SortedBrain, personalized notifications about users' goals could make them return to the app. - Create a mechanism where one user can invite multiple others to the platform. 3. Should I focus on acquiring more users first or acquiring paid users? - This is something to figure out along the way. - Some features Indian users won’t pay for, but don’t be disappointed—try other countries, they might pay. - Talk, get feedback, iterate. 4. How should I think about making money? - Have multiple business models. Medial has multiple income streams, not relying on just one. 5. What about team building? - A good team is crucial. - At Medial, their strategy was to bring in core people for each specific domain and share equity with them. This is the foundation for a long-term game. 6. Raising investment? - Build a POC (proof of concept) and show traction.
