If i have to choose from two options either i can do post graduation with old syllabus format or i can join an institute with newly trends and syllabus which is more beneficial as my parents saying post graduation is important to maintaining the gap.

Is it at all beneficial to attend case competitions if you are an engineering student wanting to get into tech.
Or will it get looked down upon by recruiters thinking I am not sure about what to do?
