WHY YAHOO FAILED? Yahoo was started by Terry and David as an internet directory featuring top website. It was a hit, and its growth skyrocketed when Netscape integrated Yahoo’s directory into its browser. This attracted advertisers, bringing ad revenue. Within six years of its launch, Yahoo was worth $125 billion. However, Yahoo missed opportunities to acquire many startups including Google. Google had developed a better search engine, providing more relevant results. This made it better for users and advertisers. So, Yahoo integrated Google into their site, which led to free Google's Promotion. And later by the time Yahoo created its own search engine, users had shifted to Google. Yahoo had launched multiple services like Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Photos, etc, and also acquired their competitors. However, these purchases didn't add any value. In next 10 years, 6 CEOs and 25 mission statements were changed, leading to a lack of direction. These factors led to Yahoo's failure!
