Why are there songs in Indian movies? Are filmmakers exploiting music industry for commercial gain to boost box office performance? In contrast to Hollywood and many other film industries globally, Indian movies always incorporate songs and dance. In Hollywood, songs only exists in Kids/Animated movies. Are songs from Indian movies dominating the Indian Music industry? Indian film industry repeatedly features the same playback singers, creating extremely high entry barrier for new artists. With fewer opportunities for non-film singers, do you think is limiting the Indian music industry as a whole? When interacting with people abroad, it also becomes apparent that India is often stereotyped and misinterpreted based on Bollywood songs. Do you think image of India is being tarnished by film songs? (Also comment down below few dance scenes in Indian movies that makes no sense.
