First thing the startups don't do all the manufacturing in Nepal, they outsource it in China, very heavily dependent on china and importing is expensive but still as I have observed they are doing great. I will definitely make a post addressing it. Although tech startup culture is worse I would say but there are some exceptions like esewa and khalti ( Paytm and phonepe of Nepal ) . Altogether it's growing but still not favourable tbh

Outsourcing the manufacturing is a common in india as well. It good good in last few years only. So that issue can be solved. So Even government can help in this ( if they want). The only issue is that once the industry is dominated by Indian and Chinese companies, it would get hard for an Nepali brand to establish. So this is probably the best time to start, or it would get late
