Main reason, I started working in startup is to learn a lot of new things and get exposure but learning doesn't happen in all startup sometimes you have to teach people what you have learnt and there will be no scope of learning new things after a while. Here's what Consulting companies look for: 1. Top acads 2. Excellent communication - reading and writing 3. Well made resume, in STAR format reviewed by atleast 2-3 consultants 4. Thorough in consulting case frameworks and guesstimates. You will find a lot of consulting case books from B Schools online. Find a few classmates who are equally or more enthusiastic about getting into consulting, form case prep groups and prepare - you will need atleast 3-4 months of consistent preparation. And once you think you are good at case frameworks, go to a mentor in consulting and do case interview, take feedback, repeat. Find a good consultant mentor for 3&4, work on all these you will make it.
