They had very good use cases. They can hold ownable data. Like if you have an NFT connected to a hospital, it can hold your encrypted health data. When you own the nft, the information belongs to you instead of the hospital. It can also serve as tickets for events. If used in Pubg, it can also have the complete Pubg profile of a person, saved nowhere else but written to the nft. You can have collectibles as NFT like Pokemon Go Pokemons. It can also used as entry point to gated online communities. In Metaverse, every digital item will be ownable through NFT. There were NFTs for elite communities, who can only be identified by owning the NFT and being verified. NFT had a great purpose. But people used it to pump and dump, wrong things were marketed for the wrong reasons, making it lose all its value

I have never really understood why and how apps like hood and hunch have close to a million users. Hunch is literally a polling app and hood is basically twitter. The fact that they are still growing baffles me. Anyone knows why?
