This might sound dumb but hear it out. Why are there no platforms where people with ideas for startups or people who have an MVP and what not can sort of like post or something about either their idea or about their product/business in order to seek

Upvotes/likes can't signal if people will use that product. Liking a post/pitch doesn't take anything away from you. There should be a better metric. For example, number of people who commit to the product/idea. Commitment can be in the form of toke

That is correct and a valid point added. But the point to use the upvote system is not to prove that there are potential customers who are already committed to the product, but instead to filter out the good ideas from the bad ones.

POC of your idea happened on Medial last month. The digital pitching competition and top 10-20 ideas based on likes/comments (one of the criteria) was sent to VCs. It had 2K+ entries and except a few almost each pitch had similar number of likes. Nothing much to separate them. I like the problem statement you are trying to solve! But I feel filtering ideas based on just likes/upvotes won't workout. You need to add something more to it?

Yes, even I'm not that satisfied with the upvote system that I mentioned, but that's the only system that came to my mind to filter ideas. Do you have any suggestions on how to filter out the ideas?

So how do posts go on the trending page in medial? I think I've had some posts where they only had like 3 likes and went on trending page.
