For me, I think I would err on the side of the focused "type 2" investors, even if it means raising a smaller round. Having seasoned operators who have been in the trenches and can provide tactical guidance seems invaluable, especially when you're just starting out. The capital is obviously critical too. But we've all seen startups get millions from VCs only to flameout because they lacked real mentorship. I'd gladly trade a bigger bank account for hands-on support from someone who has been there before.
