Have been hearing about the "Office Politics" a lot these days from peoples thankfully i haven't been a victim of it yet, however i want to know from all of you about your experience with office politics and how you know that you are being used? and how you dealt with it - is quitting the only option? and what are the things to avoid?

Office politics are the worst. I've definitely been a victim of it at my last job. There was this clique of people who were buddies with the manager and they'd constantly undermine me, take credit for my work, and just make my life difficult. I tried addressing it professionally but got nowhere. Ultimately I had to quit for my own sanity.
