Welcome to OUT OF THE BOX MARKETING! Ep=12 (De Beers) You may have heard that diamond is an extremely precious and rare gemstone. However, there are other gemstones that are far more precious and rare than diamond. Even still, when we think about valuable gemstones, the first thing that comes to mind is diamonds. All thanks to De beers Which started in 1888 at South Africa, which continued to dominate the diamond market and created monopoly over it ●To make Diamond Special they come up with a bunch of strategists in 1902 1. They purposefully reduced the supply of diamonds to create scarcity. 2. They approached celebrities to promote the gem. 3. Diamond was portrayed as a symbol of love in movies. As a result, boom a PERFECT BRANDING ;) So....When we think about valuable gemstones, the first thing that comes to mind is diamonds. Did you know about this? Like and follow for more ;)
