Its greed. Investors want outsized returns on their money, bcoz their comp depends on that. They take 10 bets, knowing 8 will definitely fail and 1 might get them 100x. So, feed on their Greed!!!

It would be better to show your dad or any investor some prototype of your product. Then your chances of getting money would increase.

These are the points you should tell, that too briefly to the investors: Problem, your solution to the problem, how is it going to work, technologies used, how you will implement, how you will scale and finally the main point that is how are you going to generate income with it.
