Hey folks, how's it going? Remember when the Stanley Cups created a sensation? It was crazy, right? India might have missed out on the buzz, but the US was going nuts over it. Cups sold like hotcakes. Want to know how? Let's dive in! Stanley was a lesser-known brand until a video of the Stanley cup surviving fire blew up and that took social media by storm. TikTok users showing off their Stanley Cups led to others wanting one too, People started wanting cups even though they were not necessary, and this trend quickly spread across the nation, capturing the interest of all age groups. This is a classic example of the demonstration/bandwagon effect in economics. People tend to copy each other to show that they are no less, and this behaviour arises from a feeling of jealousy and not being left out. Isn't it an interesting case of luck? It just goes to show that with the right marketing and a bit of luck, anything can become a sensation.
