My job hardly takes 4 hours of work but my manager forces me to stay in office till 8pm. Why can’t I work from 10am-3pm and leave if I am done. What is this need to make everyone sit on their desks uselessly? The reason I get is that everyone will

Didnt you sign up for 10 hours when you signed the offer letter?
Work hours weren’t mentioned by hr told that usual 9-5
Then tell this to your manager. Your work hours might be written somewhere, perhaps NDA or rules or JR
Someone had raised working hours question to which he replies that startups don’t have working hours.
He as in the manager, Cofounder or HR?

Lol manager isn't a decision maker. Talk with your HR or Cofounder, they will know better about productivity
