Unpopular Opinion: Mega Tech Platform cannot scale with regular Indian VC. What do you think about VCs and their recent chase for profitability? Especially, for companies like Koo, Sharechat. I mean, we know and we've seen in the history of start-ups, facebook didn't achieve profitability in its peak, they had such a long time, to establish the "cool" factor, which needed a lot of patience from their early investors, users and the founders. We didn't even give sharechat a decade, before trying to monetising their user base, which in my opinion will be the reason for it's demise.

Agreed. But things might change after this slump. India only need one successful victory to convince the entire ecosystem that this can be built with some patience in India too. Really hoping the tides turn.

I completely agree with this. Profitablility ke chakkar mei, we are sacrificing on growth..and reach. Institutional investors here don’t have any patience or vision to be there for the long term.

Founders need to understand that same "Indian Platform" for a "Western Platform" is not a viable option for a long run. We can see the same with the likes of Koo, Chingari, Josh, Jio Meet, and various others. If the product does not provide reach and some different aspect from the foreign app, people will not use it just in the name of Indian App.
