Dream is just like a last platform and situation/ people are those footsteps that would be there between you and your dream. You have to take people together and win situations in between to reach that last platform. But When you are about to reach that platform - you face some situation that is beyond your control - may be enviornmental or any case - and you have to start again from the start.
