Eventually not I know but what if they are your close friends and are jealous by seeing your success and want to divert you from your studies and goals . I had rich spoilt brats as my friends. I'm still in touch with one. I do believe they greatly influence your thoughts. That's exactly why I spend more time with people who I want to be like. You can still have friends, just try to be choosy about the time and energy you allow them to consume.

Just don't try to indulge in conversations you don't like around them for the sake of friendship. If you find something of low level in these conversations, just point that out quickly, and slowly you will be out of that group. They will say that you have changed, but you know you have changed for the better.
