If we hire some one to build our app How can we protect the idea until our app is ready so that it will be hard for others to copy? Or what happens if the developer who we hired likes the idea and builds his own app based on our idea?

Wake up everyday with the mindset of "Coin Toss" Because you'll have no idea what's going to be the "outcome" But your job is to be "Ready" and just call out(Heads or Tails) whenever the coin is tossed.
