I am interested in finance and want to work in a startup to handle their finances , but I don't have any idea on how to start and acquire knowledge in order to make myself capable for that role, any suggestions?

Better ask for internships because you are standing at 0. People don't even give their financial to 5-6 year experienced guy. Do MBA in finance or work with some instution as an intern for at 2 years then do job for 4-5 years. Then people will feel comfortable to give you the financials.
