Can anyone help me understand why engineers prioritize pursuing high-paying jobs over creating something of their own?

Firstly, engineers can achieve anything but due to the lack of prosperity they couldn't risk trying anything new. And more over the responsibilities & the expenses of raising a family are more that couldn't give them much support to save & start a business & lack of awareness of the business flow can be a major problem to. The support to the idea might be lacking in as well due to the culture & environment they grew in makes them feel like job is more comfortable.
