Is going through ur chats or tracking ur activity on browser To offer betters ads bad? Arent they showing relevant and different options? anyways all ur data is stored in databases with hashing so nobody actually knows who u r in the ocean of users.

They can use our data against us. For example: They can figure which political party ideology you prefer and try to manipulate you. Which would be dangerous for democracy to function

Political implication is a side effect of this algorithm. And yes if they want they can actually drive a certain Ideology forward. And thats a threat for which US DOJ went heavy on meta post 2015 elections

I understand the political aspect.. But i think the algorithm itself is designed to polarise u to attract u more.. Say u r a liberal with slight inclination towards leftist ideology. The algorithm is designed to test and push u to either side to make u stay on the app more.
