Is going through ur chats or tracking ur activity on browser To offer betters ads bad? Arent they showing relevant and different options? anyways all ur data is stored in databases with hashing so nobody actually knows who u r in the ocean of users. Unless someone really want to track u specifically in META/google?
Correct bro, I also have the same point of view. And till date I was thinking I am only persone who is thinking like that 😂. But 1 thing us there, Targeted ads can be used to exploit people's vulnerabilities and manipulate them into making purchases they might not need.
First of all privacy is major concern bro, ofcourse I agree the information is like ocean but the thing is they can track it if they want to,right?that's where the concern begins, they how how we think, what we talk, how we do etc which they use to influence our ideas, decisions and even sell that information to third parties to make profit, They also influence what we see, what you do, how you be,at the end it's business for them, No transperancy and no accountability on what they are collecting and how they are using it,& the ability they have to influence you is major concern,it's always dangerous to keep data in someone's hand without transperancy and accountability.
Yes good, but can you just make decisions based on that data?. Or need more data?.
While targeted ads may provide relevant options, it's essential to consider the privacy implications of tracking user activity.
So your idea is to go through others msg to make their online experience better right , but to make it we need to use AI if anything went wrong the AI may work in wrong way then how can a user data be safe. it's ok if it only go through chats but what if anyone trys to hack the whole then just think about the sensitive data of users And you are telling that unless someone want to track us but you also doing the same but in different way Try to think still bigger imay not the person to tell you but it's just my opinion ,no offence
They can use our data against us. For example: They can figure which political party ideology you prefer and try to manipulate you. Which would be dangerous for democracy to function
I think these data can well enough be used for personalised ads and stuff it can also be misused during times like elections, it can and it does deeply affect the polling results you have no idea how strong data is and can be. There are ways in which we dont even know are manipulated with the help of personal and personalised data. Thats why the demand brother. Why do you think someone acquires a dying social media startups like sharechat or tries to revive it? Only because of the value if the userbase, their habits, their data.
It's not about knowing who you are , for companies, your data is specifically your data only , this doesn't change the fact that they knew everything about you. Secondly it's not about showing ads , it's about accessing more than enough data of a users . You never wants that any one ones too much about you , which can be dangerous for you in future. I hope you get my point
Exactly!!!! I don't get the whole facade of "they're stealing my data" bro they're taking your data so that they can give personalised ads to you nothing else , its a win-win situation
