Actually Facebook acquired youth in initial days of it's launch but Youth started leaving the platform when Old individuals started using the platform too resulted in cringe being shared and Relatives often used to stalk/spy on them so Youth lost interest in Facebook and stopped using it, Facebook at that time didn't provided much privacy Features too. Instagram however focuses on Privacy like the Private profile feature which let them hide their entire profile content from people who are not following them . Another reason was photo quality, though people might find it wrong or absurd but Pictures shared on Facebook sucked quality wise (or atleast I thought it sucked) while Instagram provided higher picture quality as it was totally focused on photo sharing and Camera feature of Instagram also had an edge which attracted youth for its filters and effects

Instagram has been designed to be addictive while Facebook was old-fashioned ,has too many features and not much utility.

I will say it is related to clean experience. Over the years Facebook has become more cluttered but on the other hand Instagram's UI/UX is clean and minimal.

It's simple, Content. Facebook never had content that can appeal to youth. Try it, open facebook, see the top ten content recommendations vs see it on Instagram. Why you use medial, LinkedIn, YouTube or instagram, because all have different kinds of content that is relevant to you for different purposes. But Facebook never had content that can be relevant to the young genZ

complexity in UI...its everything app worst algorithm.... its shows irrelevant content..

I think both have their own stats based on their usecases, Instagram is a lot more minimal for usage compared to possibilities on Facebook. I think Facebook groups is still a big thing in various parts of the world.

One factor could be the shift towards visual content, which is more prominent on Instagram. Additionally, Instagram's focus on storytelling and experiences may also appeal to younger users.

There are too much of whole-sellers on Instagram. The quality since last 3 years have degraded by a lot where everyone is creating content but no one’s watching. I am a Facebook loyalist

FB was just not cool any more, it's true with everything...once everyone starts using one particular thing it gets boring and uncool...so today we have insta ...our kids probably will be on some other app

Youth craves status and IG does it better than FB!

Comparatively interface of ig is very much better than Facebook and it user friendly, after introducing reels people are more addictive to ig, but Facebook is the initial step to get people into social media

I think the Main thing is about privacy,even the neighborhood uncles also peeked into our stuff

everything apart instagram concentrated on photos and videos instead of long lengthy text content, people in this generation actually looking for a simplified instantaneous photo sharing app, and instagram done it, instagram reels become popular after tik tok ban in india, simplified user interface and minimal interactions made instagram a youth first choice

Instagram's ui is more attractive and Facebook was mostly acquired by adults..and the content was boring. Instagram solved these both problems. Facebook was more like family group even with yihr distant relatives. Youth didn't find it interesting enough due to adults majority
