Yeah in recent years there are new type of remote starters (of which we can turn on and off switch of the power wirelessly from home) this starters are good but also costly 6k to 10k I guess and can be used with app. But what you ask about in larger part of India only about 10% to 20% of farmers are able to afford drop irrigation systems which cost around 10k per acre ig... So they prefer to water their crops manually and in this manual process they've to be present at farm to change the directions of water to different different lines of plants... So if one use drip irrigation + smart starter then it's definitely to automatically water plants but this thing is not possible in large set of farmers because 85% of Indian farmers have around >5 acres of land... And this translates to "की नंगा नहायेगा क्या & नंगा धोएगा क्या" it's just simple they can't afford this systems... Which further translates to they've to follow the schedules... I hope this will provide you more context... <3
