Don't address it as a dating app. U can start a new trend. Like an application which connects people with similar fantasy. You can set up a pro membership plan and Pro users can start their own cult. Every cult will have their own rules.

If you can somehow make it offline! I know of a company/start up that has started the system of wearing a ring (a green ring) which shows that they are single and ready to date. Anyone w the same ring in the proximity will know that they are ready to talk. This is an interesting concept - only, probably wouldn’t work with people who are socially awkward. I think a dating app that can somehow counter this issue (I.e. everything being just online) + help people introduce themselves better will help. Can solve two problems imo.

I believe the only two type of dating products which will be successful are - offline dating products like smallworld, or an AR/VR dating app. Don’t make a swiping app. You’ll be wasting your time and money. I already wasted months on it.

The only people who complain about dating apps are the ones who get 0 matches because they have no personality. However, you could create an exclusive dating app where both men and women need to have a paid membership to access the app. Basically like Raya but not for celebrities that is accessible to quality men and women. People with no money already have Tinder and Bumble.

Opinion: Most of those using dating apps in India are not actually looking for quality connections. They might think they are looking for quality, but actions and interests are not aligned towards that. As a business, build what the audience wants. Make it like a social game, let them start chat and only revel identity and option to share numbers once they interact for few days (milestone based). Keep it fun, design level of excitement resulting in prolonged engagement. Whether the user funds serious quality relationship or not will be there call at the end. You don't start with promoting quality connections.

By knowing the people more by making survey and collecting information, and then deciding what is more important. Currently most of them like 💰, if hard to find people who can adjust, and support each other, if you can add one more option stating, Currently struggling looking for a partner with very supportive nature, it will be an advantage, again people might misuse, hence look where people can be tracked. Using the data decide, make categories, and then make the match.

In dating apps, there are plenty of catfishing profiles, people are creating fake profiles to get attention. Mostly, people aren't there for a relationship, they're looking for a partner who is ready to fulfil their unusual desires.. Mostly, people especially influencers are using apps to prank and test generation, which makes it difficult for others to trust the app because it's full of influencers with fake name. It's rare to find good and genuine people on theze apps. All people do is swipe for a match, some people swipe everyone. This swipe culture is infuelcing everyone negatively, there should be an another way to get your perfect date. Just like every other app, swipe to get your partner, there should be more to this app.
