Before you have any questions, let me tell you 👇 Wu is not alone here but he build a masterpiece for developers along with its two co-founders Steven Hao, the CTO, and Walden Yan, the chief product officer, founded Cognition in November 2023. Wu's journey started early. He was born in a suburb of Dallas called Plano. A Harvard econ grad, he ventured to SF to launch his own gig. But the spark of his genius? It ignited in his childhood. As a kid, Wu aced math competitions effortlessly. After Devin's announcement, people shared stories of seeing Wu's childhood genius in math and coding. Which you all must have seen! Wu's been dominating Codeforces competitions for years. It's a platform where you tackle coding contests, solve algorithmic problems, and sharpen your programming skills. Wu has gained the title of a ‘legendary grandmaster’ on the platform. Prior to founding Cognition AI, Wu built another company called Lunchclub, which was backed by Lightspeed, Coatue and a16z. Wu was CTO and cofounder there. Lunchclub is an AI superconnector that facilitates introductions for 1:1 video meetings. Scott Wu’s older brother is Neal Wu who is also building Cognition Labs. Both brothers are math legends winning nationals several times during their school. So you see he was a prodigy child from the start and eventually something revolutionary is on the verge. Wu also said “I first learned to program when I was nine years old and fell in love with the ability to turn my ideas into reality,” So he was passionate enough from the start. Overall his journey from a math competition prodigy to the CEO of Cognition Labs is just outstanding and inspirational to many.
